Annual Assessment of student learning

At ATU, we are committed to ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our academic programs through the annual assessment of student learning. This process allows us to systematically evaluate how well our students are achieving the intended learning outcomes for their certificate and degree programs.

  • Annual Cycle: All certificate and degree programs engage in annual assessment activities following a standard assessment cycle that aligns with the Annual Academic Assessment Schedule. This ensures a consistent and systematic approach across the institution.
  • Focus on Student Learning: The primary goal of annual assessment is to understand and improve student learning outcomes within each program.
  • Documentation in Weave: All aspects of the annual assessment process, including plans, activities, findings, and action plans, are documented in our online assessment management system, Weave.

Curriculum maps provide a visual representation of how courses within a program align with the program's learning outcomes. These maps are valuable resources for understanding the structure of your program and ensuring that learning outcomes are addressed throughout the curriculum. Curriculum maps are organized for your convenience by campus, then by college, department, and finally by program. You can access them through the following links:

A comprehensive collection of resources to support your annual assessment efforts can be found in the SharePoint folder. This folder contains guidance documents, templates, examples, and other helpful materials.

For further information or personalized assistance with any aspect of the annual assessment process, please do not hesitate to contact our Assessment Coordinator, Amanda Gardner, at agardner6@atu.edu.
